Services Provided

At the moment we are running three programmes; CHOICES, Pathways and the Better Reading Partnership. CHOICES is a careers and study support programme for primary and second level students. It aims to reduce early school leaving, improve educational / training attainment levels and help students to gain more from school. It also seeks to motivate students toward further education and training, enhance their study skills, support supervised study sessions and provide a mentor / tutorial programme for specific subject areas. Pathways is support programme which aims to promote students from the Finglas Cabra area to commence and complete PLC and third level courses. Travel and book allowance grants are available through Pathways. The Millenium Partnership Fund is also administered in conjunction with Pathways. The Millennium Partnership Fund provides financial assistance to students who are experiencing financial difficulties whilst attending college. The Better Reading Partnership works to improve the reading ability of children in local schools in the Finglas Cabra area. The project works directly with schools, parents and communities to provide appropriate reading interventions with primary level school children, through intensive and creative reading sessions. A key aspect of the project is to actively find ways to involve parents in their children’s reading and education. DNWAP also commission research into educational needs on a regular basis.
